This is a team$-$based activity. As a team, each person will play a role as a member of a hotel design team which has been hired to create a portfolio for the Hotel Manager. There are two groups who will later participate in a visual presentation of their work as each person will have five $(5)$ minutes to discuss an element of the Assignment.

This assignment is to be done in your assigned groups. The submission will be in the for of a Word document and then elements of it will later be presented by each group via a

live Zoom session as each group member will have $5$ minutes to present an element of their findings.

Your submission should also include a one page resume for each group member, specific to the job specifications and the role that each member will play in developing the presentation.

WORD DOCUMENT GUIDELINES:

The submission should take the form of $10-15$ pages of content with a Title Page and Bibliography in proper APA format. It should include the following elements:

$1.$ The Job Specifications of the design team.

$2.$ Introduction: which identifies a hospitality facility and includes an overview of the property.

$3.$ Proposal: which provides a design of the back$-$of$-$the$-$house space as a renovation plan, which is based on the readings covered in this course, environmentally sound practices that can lead to cost reductions, business expansion and profit growth.

$4.$ Analysis of the Proposal: you should detail the use of the space, draw or illustrate and identify maintenance related issues which will arise and also any preventative maintenance necessary for building upkeep. Also identify green operating practices which will reduce resources thereby reducing financial cost but without sacrificing the comfort of staff and guests. It is important that you address the role engineering$/$facilities management has in the day to day operation of the space. In addition, indicate how your proposal can positively and$/$or negatively affect, the two main facility operating costs. Also identify an important resource which would be purchased and how you can reduce occupational injury rates in the use of this resource, based on international best practices.
