As an economic development officer, one of your roles is to provide information and referrals. In small communities, entrepreneurs will look to you for assistance to navigate the regulation maze. Step 1: Select Select a Canadian municipality where you hope to locate a business. This business can be in any community in Canada.| Step 2: Review You plan to open up a small food production business from your home (you have developed an amazing salsa recipe). You have two staff members who will work with you in your business. Using resources contained at the Business Link and through contact with your chosen municipality's economic development department, identify what regulations you will need to comply with in order to operate your business. Can you produce the salsa in your home? Can you sell the salsa from your home? Are you allowed to have employees? Do you need to make changes to your home to produce and/or sell salsa?
