A random sample of 20 college students was asked, "how many hours per week typically do you work outside the home?" Their responses were as follows:
0, 15, 20, 30, 40, 30, 20, 35, 35, 28, 15, 20, 25, 5, 24, 29, 35, 15, 8, 10
(a) Construct a frequency distribution (Complete the table below).
Hours Worked Frequency (2 points)
0 - 4.9 1
5- 9.9 2
?
(b) Make a histogram of this data using a class width of 5 hours per week. In other words, on the horizontal axis (bottom of the histogram), you should write the values 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 etc. The same way, on the vertical axis, you should write 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 etc. (the "frequency" or "number of times" each hour is observed/recorded). (2 points)
