1. Identify one or more database solutions to address a given data collection/discovery/extraction problem. Part 1: Select a type of database from the ones listed in the literature. Describe a problem that can be solved using the type of database you selected. Deliverable: a MS-Word document describing the problem and how the database needs to be defined (based on its type) and how data will be acquired (sources, rules, quality, etc.) Part 2: You are in charge for developing an application to manage the reservation and seating of a restaurant. The solution shall be able to take a reservation on-line indicating the number of people attending, the date, the time and a contact information. That is the end-user side. On the side of the restaurant, the application should be able to manage the capacity of the restaurant. For example, a restaturant can have a specific number of tables for 2,3,4 or 5 people. Also, the restaurant has a limited capacity per hour. That is, the restaurant can't take any more reservations when the max. number of seats has been reached for a certain time - you may need to consider that on average, people spend 2 hours dinning. Deliverable: Identify entities, properties of the entities and relationships amongst entities for the problem described above. Your deliverable is a logical diagram indicating the properties and relationships. Keep the diagram at the logical level, i.e., no need to specify tables yet. Part 3: I am attaching the documentation for Spring Breakers are Us (SBRU). This is a class project from a course I have taught for the School of Business. The purpose of the project is to create a DB for SBRU that can help them "move the needle" for their business.
