Objective: In groups, you will have to pick or create a union and assume yourselves union representatives. You will need to assume that you are bargaining on the behalf of your bargaining unit during first contract. I will act as your employer management. In a group (Max 5 students), will create and present a PowerPoint slide containing the below given sequence of slide. Your Presentation must include below items in the same sequence given: - Title Slide (Include Group number, names, date, course etc.) - Agenda (Components you will cover during your presentation) - Introduction to your union (Include union name, what kind of industry/sector you represent, Number of current employees in your bargaining unit, what job positions/worker profiles you are negotiating for, how many locations of mine you are unionized on, or any other assumptions you would like to state about union and organization here) - As this these our first-time contract negotiations, you need to propose your desired terms/changes in the current employment terms. Please make sure if you have at least 5 changes you are looking for. Please make sure you have appropriate reasons/justification why you are looking for improvements in current terms of employment. ( You are allowed to make assumptions on current terms of employment between the employer and employees) Please make sure you are known to all the concepts we studied during the course, so you can use this into our week 14 negotiations. Please be advised that I will be using these legal concepts during our negotiations. - Mention about the collective agreement duration you like to propose. - What style of bargaining you are interested in, Please refer to chapter 7 collective bargaining if you don't know about bargaining styles. Also please justify why you want to use that specific style only. - If we do not conclude our negotiations, would you like to use Mediation or Arbitration? Why? Also, Please search and select any real-world public/private firm or service you like to use during these third party interventions. - Reference Slides (In-text, references in APA/MLA and Image citations are mandatory)
