Objective:

To assess students' ability to integrate strategic objectives from a Balanced Scorecard into a coherent and efficient process architecture that facilitates the achievement of those objectives.

Activity Description:

Step $1$: Understanding the Balanced Scorecard

$$ You are provided with a sample Balanced Scorecard for a hypothetical company. This BSC will include typical perspectives such as Financial, Customer, Internal Processes, and Learning and Growth, along with specific goals within each perspective. Please see below BSC:

Step $2$: Analysis and Planning

$$ Objective: To analyze the objectives listed in the Balanced Scorecard and plan a process architecture that supports these objectives.

$$ Instructions:

$1.$ Identify key objectives from each perspective of the Balanced Scorecard.

$2.$ Determine critical business processes that are required to achieve these objectives.

$3.$ Map out the relationships between the BSC objectives and the proposed processes, demonstrating how each process supports at least one strategic objective.

Step $3$: Designing the Process Architecture

$$ Objective: To design a detailed process architecture that systematically addresses the strategic objectives derived from the Balanced Scorecard.

$$ Instructions:

$1.$ Create a diagram of the process architecture using process modeling tools.

$2.$ Clearly delineate the strategic, core, and supporting processes.

$3.$ Ensure that there are clear links showing how operational processes feed into achieving the strategic objectives outlined in the BSC$.$
