I put the Lown Hospital Index (remember that in Unit 1) to let you look at how well hospitals are doing and to show what you measure matters! Did you take a look at the metrics? Remember, nonprofit hospitals are expected to provide charity care and other community benefits, to maintain their tax-exempt status. That is why knowing population health is very key for healthcare administrators!!!
