Cameron finally stopped when he felt like he was going tovomit. He managed to hold back and lay down on the couchgroaning. Soon he was complaining of a massiveheadache. At one point he said, "I feel like my brain isgoing to explode!" Then he complained that everything wasstarting to look blurry. His friends suggested that he try tourinate. As he stumbled off to the bathroom, he collapsed inthe hallway. When his friends ran back to check on him, theyfound him unconscious in the hallway. When they couldn'trevive him, they dialed 911.
When paramedics arrived at the home of Cameron H., a 16 year oldmale, Cameron was unconscious. During transport to theambulance, he suffered a seizure. At the hospital it wasdetermined that he was experiencing hyponatremia (abnormally lowblood sodium levels; "hypo-" = abnormally low; "-natr-" = sodium,Na+; "-emia" = blood). They started him on an IVsolution.
