On the optical bench, arrange the optical bench lamp with the metal "F" object in place over the opening. You will place a lens at various distances from the "F" object and record information about the images. (Top View) Bench lamp "F" object 54 cm 36 cm 27 cm 12 cm 5,1 Lens Screen or Head Location For each case, first you will attempt to locate the image formed on the screen (paddle with paper). If you are able to locate it, the image is said to be "REAL" (i.c. light really comes together at that point). If you are unable to locate the image, the image is said to be "VIRTUAL" (i.e. light never really comes together at that point). For real images, answers the other questions based on what you see on the screen. For virtual images, you will have to get down at table level and look into the lens. We did specific examples for single lenses and always used "REAL OBJECTS".
