Amazon (Links to an external site.) has a LARGE amount of time, money and resources invested in its supply chains. They are a leader in earnings and sales on the annual National Retail Federation "Top Retailers" List (Links to an external site.) - and they provide a great example of how supply chains operate. This week, you are going to look at Amazon's role in the supply chain from both sides by answering the following: Imagine that you are a United States-based manufacturer/supplier that makes toasters - and you want to sell them to consumers via Amazon: Please identify and explain in detail a "pro" or positive to using Amazon to sell to consumers. Please identify and explain in detail a "con" or negative to using Amazon to sell to consumers. Imagine that you are someone in the United States labor force who is looking for a job: Please identify and explain in detail a "pro" or positive to working for Amazon. Please identify and explain in detail a "con" or negative working for Amazon. Imagine that you are a typical consumer (or retail shopper) in the United States: Please identify and explain in detail a "pro" or positive for a consumer shopping with Amazon. Please identify and explain in detail a "con" or negative for a consumer shopping with Amazon. After looking at these pros and cons, what is your takeaway about Amazon's position/influence/role in the marketing supply chain - today and in the future? Please refer to the resources and videos below, along with your text in Chapters 15 and 16 and the Week 4 Lecture for more information to help answer these questions, and on supply chain relationships in general.
