Your job is to evaluate what you put in the previous section, Description of performance management and compensation practices. In doing so, you might use the following questions to guide your analysis: How well do the companys practices stack up against what the course recommends? For example, does the performance management system conform to the five criteria for effective performance measures (i.e., reliability, validity, acceptability, specificity, fit Team Assignment, Page 2 with strategy)? Does the compensation system meet the effective incentive pay requirements? Why or why not? Are there any areas of conflict between what the organization does and the recommended practices in the course? Are the HRM practices used strategically? That is, regardless of whether they match what we have discussed, do they work for the organization? Why or why not? Do the practices fit with what you know about other companies in the same industry or with similar positions? Why or why not?
