Organizations that collect data at massive scale such as FB$,$ Amazon, and Google have massive data warehouses. Other Data Warehouses are also growing in number. These are organizations that collect or purchase data about individuals in the general public and then resell to marketers. Who, in turn, can use this information to target consumers.

I call this syndrome 'a marketer's dream but a consumer's nightmare' $-$ what do you think? Has the ability to target your audience with detailed demographics$/$psychographics gone too far?

Where should it stop? Who should be regulating this? Who is responsible for the enforcement of these regulations?
