- Select an Omani small, medium enterprise for the assignment. It may be your company or your family or colleague or relative. It is recommended that the organization be a small one (employ less than 100 people).
- Provide a brief summary of the organization you have chosen. Its key products/services, number of employees, location, vision, mission and goal of the business.
- Collect information about firm, and identify any relevant HR problems exist in this organization. You can collect information through:
- a questionnaire (Talk to manager at work to get permission to use the questionnaire)
- observations
- websites, reading material of the company
- conversations with employees and employers of the firm.
- Analyze the research information you have collected and summarize your findings. Identify any issues that have emerged from your investigation. e.g. lack of diversity, gender imbalance, excessive overtime, poor working conditions, a dominance of casual /part time staff, sub-contracting, lack of promotion, high staff turnover, low job satisfaction, and poor levels of motivation, etc.
- Provide suitable recommendations to the company to solve the identified problem. The recommendations should be based on the HR literature.
