Outline real world evaluation.
- You will pick a real-world operation that can be an industrial or home based task Provide video, pictures or diagrams of the workstation and a list of all job related information I.e. cycle time, shift length, weights of parts, tools list, injury stats, why this job is being assessed etc. See videotaping tips below Please save your video as .mp4 and submit it with your assignment as a separate file.
- You will create a job outline with specific tasks that the worker completes and select the appropriate tool(s) to evaluate the Ergonomic risk associated with the task
- Next, you will need to develop 5 solutions or improvement ideas to address the Ergonomic risks associated with the operation. When possible, provide as much detail in the solutions as you can. Include details from the Design Guidelines section of the course; if purchasing new equipment, you should go on-line and actually source the specific equipment you want to purchase and include price details, vendors, etc.
- You need to provide a cost justification section that supports your improvement ideas.
- Finally, you will create a formal assessment report, in one document, that includes the information above and submit this report in the assignment submission folder. The goal is to completely assess and solve a real world issue. Any details that are required to complete an assessment should be included (and gathered as part of your job review). If you cannot complete a real world assessment complete a mock-up evaluation.
You will create a mock assessment of a real-world operation.
- The operation can be an office or industrial based. You dont have to create an actual physical mock-up, but you need pictures or diagrams of the workstation. For this, feel free to use any means at your disposal (search on-line, use past materials from other courses, etc.). Include a list of all job-related information I.e. cycle time, shift length, weights of parts, tools list etc. (this is a mock-up so this is up to you)
