Overview The course will touch on a different topic related to Global Health. The topics of discussion will discuss certain aspects of the chapter reading. Discussion assignments encourage deeper conversation about the chapter, highlighting key elements. Continuing that discussion with peers in the class is essential to learning the material and sharing different viewpoints from the chapter reading and peer reflection. Global Health Transitions The global health landscape will be different 5 and 10 years from now. Transitions are occurring in so many ways, in so many contexts, and are creating profound changes in global health. These interlinked transitions are both economic and programmatic. A group of countries historically relying on development assistance for health (DAH) is transitioning into higher-income status. Increased income triggers graduation out of several multilateral health financing initiatives. These, and many other factors, are changing the landscape of health at a global level. The question: What is health equity? Do you think that global health equity is achievable? The PACES model on page 2, Figure 1.1 in the textbook, describes core values in global health.
