Overview: The internet is an ideal medium for locating missing persons, cats, phones, bicycles, artwork etc. etc... For example, see the cat finder site. Some of the issues in developing a service to help find missing things ("subjects") concern requirements modelling, implementation and communication. There are many web sites available for other subjects and many ideas as to how the task should be carried out. These sites have different business models, different ways of submitting data (email, Web, SMS) different approaches to privacy, different data models and of course different server-side technologies. Before developing a site for a different subject area, it is useful to look at similar sites, to consider what data model supports the site and what functionality it supports. In this coursework you will undertake three work packages, each of which must be checked and reviewed by a tutor (via email) before proceeding to the next work item. These work packages lead to the development or the research prior to the development of a small part of a new site to support your selected subject. WP3. Specification (50 marks) In this part you will write a specification for the site based on the model designed in WP2 in a form suitable for contracting out this work to an offshore development organization. Write a specification (based on your model from wp2) to include the following sections: 1. Detailed user stories to explain how the site would assist a user in finding a lost subject. 2. At least 4 functions which would allow the website, together with the organization which provides the web site, to fulfill the user stories above. These functions should be defined a level of detail which a developer could follow and turn into code without further discussion. 3. Policy on privacy and how it is to be achieved. 4. Any other matters which you would think would be required by the development team. A good answer will provide a precise specification of the functions to be supported and will demonstrate understanding of the difficulties of this task
