This assignment has the following objectives:

Showcase the students expertise in an industry relevant topic

Assessment of the professional writing skills of the student

Generation of an analysis that can serve as a writing sample should an employer ask for an example of the students analysis and/or writing skills.

utilize articles associated with Article Summary assignments as well as additional relevant research. This is an opportunity to review prior academic work in a way that applies it to their field of interest. The best reports will demonstrate a synthesis of academic understanding with issues associated with their chosen field.

The Assignment:

Develop a professional cover page that contains the title of the report, author and date

Organize a professional report with the following sections:

1. Executive Overview (essentially a summary of the paper for someone who may not read the entire report)
2. Industry Overview (based on articles proper citation is essential)
3. Background of Issue(s) What are the issues and why do they matter?
4. Analysis of Issue(s) Break down the issues into their elements to assess what they mean and how they impact individuals, organizations and society.
5. Conclusion A professional wrap-up of the research including recommendations as applicabl

Include reference

A Industry Analysis Reports will include original analysis that features some visual depiction of what the analysis conveys (i.e. a graph, picture, diagram). Students are strongly encouraged to apply academic models and concepts to their research (i.e. Porters Five Forces, Maslows Hierarchy, etc.) in ways that are appropriate and support their area of research.

Professional reports are free of grammatical errors, written in the third person and feature appropriate margins, spacing and fonts. Students who are not familiar with what is expected should inquire with the instructor and/or Writing Center.
