In groups of two, perform a Risk Assessment on the work performed in the paint
booth. Some of the details are provided below and others will be a result of your
observations in the workplace.
Process: Paint Booth
Large parts weighing approximately 75lbs are painted daily in the booth. The
parts are placed on work horses inside the booth. The painter uses the customer
specified painting products which are store in the area. Mixing of the paint
products (colour, thinner etc) is performed in the area.
Prior to entering the booth, the painter puts on his respirator. The respirator
cartridges protect him/her from organic vapours and dust. The painter applies the
paint products, covering three sides of the parts to be coated.
The paint is allowed to dry for 4 hours before handling
Submission: Completed Assessment are to be submitted, typed, in the second
assignment portal in e-Conestoga, before beginning next weeks class.
