As | mentioned in the introduction, | came of age in a time when the internet was used but very sparsely compared to now. When | was in high school in the 90's we used the library for research, books in hand and handwritten papers. | can say definitively that my comprehension and retention were remarkably greater than they are now, with all my academic work being completed digitally. | especially notice that my children's ability to focus is significantly less than that of the children of my era. As was mentioned in the video, when multitasking large portions of the brain are activated. This is spreading our focus thin. With that happening, the quality of our learning is diminished. While contemporary culture uses TV and the internet as the chosen mediums, radio is still prevalent in mass communication.
