paragraph response that includes: Challenge or further support the interpretation shared of the research findings. Provide further insight into potential areas for future research. ORIGINAL POST: The Module 4 assignment gives the following research question for survival analysis: "Is there an association between hypertension and the time a person was followed before experiencing a stroke?" (Walden University, 2022). As described in the assignment, my analysis included identifying the variables in the assigned dataset and their roles in the analysis, checking for ties in the event times, testing the data for proportionality, and using Cox proportional hazards regression to model the hazard of experiencing a stroke with and without having hypertension. Interpretation of findings The key variables in the dataset provided are hypertension, the exposure or independent variable; stroke, the censoring variable; and followed, the time-to-event variable. In this analysis, the event is not death but experiencing a stroke; therefore, "survival" means that an individual survived for the entire study period without experiencing a stroke (Rollins, 2025). After finding no ties in the time-to-event variable followed, I checked the proportionality assumption by producing a survival plot and observing that the two survival lines representing the experience of stroke over the study period for individuals who had hypertension and those who did not (Rollins, 2025). The two lines were mostly para
