In this weeks concepts, I have learned a lot of new topics related to Supply chain management along with refreshing my memory on some topics that I have learned before. One of the new topics that I learned is Risk Management and Resiliency, as I never thought that it is possible to have procedures to recover from harsh events that occurred to the business. Also, I learned how to create SCM activities that are efficient and effective, to have effective SCM activities, the goals and needs of Supply Chain Management must be considered thoroughly in order to succeed in the process.

Additionally, I learned about Logistics which I had previous knowledge about it from undergraduate studies. The difference here is that we get learn how to do it from a managerial perspective as it will help us in understanding the concept even more. It was fun to practice selecting transportation mode examples as it made it easier to understand how each model differs from the others. It can be tricky to solve the exercises but with continuous practice, it will be easy. In addition, I got to learn about Warehousing, Consolidation & Deconsolidation, and Cross Docking. Along with Reverse Logistics which was a new topic for me. Also, we got to further explore the Purchasing concepts such as goals, duties, and cycles. Other topics that were covered are Value Analysis, Ethics, Supplier Management, and Partnership, Factors in Choosing a Supplier, The Bullwhip Effect, and lastly the Supply Chain Performance Metrics which tied all the concepts together.
