Deming's ideas on employee empowerment and continuous improvement can also encourage online instructors to continually reflect on, evaluate, and modify their methods to better suit the demands of a diverse student body. Furthermore, encouraging students to collaborate and work as a team in online discussion boards or group projects is consistent with Deming's idea of dismantling departmental walls and advancing cross-functional cooperation
