A company may do business on credit and show revenue and net profit in its income statement even before customers actually pay the money. So, despite the net profit in the income statement, the company may actually have a cash shortage, which may affect its working capital management. Relying only on net profit, therefore, may not provide the true picture of the solvency and financial strength of a company
