Part 1: Industry \& Sales Data - Using Mergent Online, in the search box type in a company that is using sales data (a retailer). Select Company Financials from the center menu options. Select Income Statement from the second drop down menu. Provide the sales for the previous 3 three years and explain the trend the numbers are stating. Part 2: Sales Data Analysis Benefits - Identify ways in which companies within this industry are likely to segment sales data and discuss why it is segmented (see chapter 7 section 2). Part 3: Strategic Use - Explain how collecting sales data in the manner identified allows the company to act strategically - How would the data be used? Provide examples and cite your sources
