Question: Part 1 The solid 3 4 mm diameter shaft is used to transmit the torques applied to the pulleys. The shaft is supported in bearings

Part 1
The solid 34 mm diameter shaft is used to transmit the torques applied to the pulleys. The shaft is supported in bearings at B and E.
Determine the magnitude and direction of the torque TD, required for the shaft to be rotating at constant speed (i.e. in equilibrium).
Determine the internal torsional moments and draw the torque diagram for the entire shaft.
Determine the absolute maximum shear stress in the shaft (not including stress concentrations due to keyways etc.).
If the shaft is made of A-36 steel, determine the angle of twist of end A relative to pulley D.
The loads and length are as follows:
TA=400N.m
TC=600N.m
L=0.4m
Where x,Y and Z are the last 3 digits of your student number. E.g. if your student number is 12345402 then x=4,Y=0 and Z=2 and TA=440N.m,TC=600 N.m and L=0.5m
(Note: to simplify the problem to just a torsion problem not shown)
Part 2
The W31024 Wide-Flange beam is made of A-36 steel and is subjected to the loading shown. Determine the slope and deflection of end A of the cantilevered beam.
First use the method of integration and then check your answer by using the method of superposition and the tables of standard beam slopes and deflections.
The loads and length are as follows:
