Part 2 Presentation: This assignment is based, again, on the Island of Palmas court case (see pages 141 to 142 of Canadian Case Law Studies). [see scan of these pages on Google Classroom in Final Evaluation section] 8 students will be picked to be lawyers [2 each for either Faragro, Jaquidan, Portugala, or the Maggu people] parties to advocate to the PCA to grant jurisdiction to their client countries or people [see pages 143 to 144 of the Canadian Case Law Studies workbook); done in an English Common Law System (oral) way]. The rest are Judges to deliver a verdict [these students will act as if they are in a Civil Law System and must investigate on their own and write their rational for the decision in terms of the verdict not bound by only what was said in court].
