ADMN 206 LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT ACTION PLAN
PART A - Your Leadership Vision (12 marks)
Creating and understanding your own personal leadership vision can provide insights
about your motivation to lead and guide your development efforts in a direction congruent
with your long-term goals. As we have learned, people who have achieved or
accomplished great things, first had a vision.
1) Define your personal vision (2 marks) and briefly explain your rationale (2 marks).
This would include insights into the significance for you personally and your
motivation to achieve this vision. (LO5)
2) Explain how your vision relates to the five characteristics of a vision as outlined in
the course textbook (5 marks).(LO5)
3) Identify the leadership traits and style that is inherent in your leadership vision.
Provide a brief explanation of how your leadership vision aligns with your identified
leadership traits and styles. (3 marks).(LO 1)
Part A should be no longer than one and one/half (1(1)/(2)) pages.
PART B - Your Leadership Strengths (6 marks)
You are undoubtedly already demonstrating leadership in many parts of life and have
already developed strengths and skills as covered in our course.
In an earlier course assignment, you were asked to capture your strengths on a business
card. In this component of the LDAP, you will need to:
1) Re-examine the strengths that you identified in your strengths assignment (core
strengths and those you identified to continue to work on through the semester)
and describe if your strengths align with your leadership vision. If not, explain the
gap in alignment. Be sure to restate your two selected core strengths and if
necessary update or provide additional core strength.
2) Explain any progress that you made on the actions you identified in your strengths
assignment to continue to develop your identified strengths. If you did not make
any progress, what actions will you strive to achieve for the remainder of the
semester?
