Part B - Case Study

Read the following scenario and complete Question 5 to 9:

Janny = Employee

Margaret = Department Manager

Robin = HR manager

One of the major issues that should be taken into consideration is that Jenny is not carrying out her duties properly (Jenny is not following the instruction) and being short with other employees (Her communication skills were not competent). As this came to management that this was not her first time, Margaret asked Robin to have a counselling discussion with Jenny before any further action was taken.

During the last meeting between Robin and Jenny, they discussed and agreed to set up another procedure but Jenny came up with another issue regarding her attitude. This was shown when Jenny became emotional and Robin's first opinion to Margaret was to give Jenny a second warning letter.

Jenny believed that she was being discriminated against by other employees because of her sexual orientation and her race, which might be the reason behind her poor performance and being short with other employees. Therefore, Jenny requested a meeting with Margaret.
