1.What are your thoughts about the article regarding Racial and Ethnic Disparities in ADHD diagnosis from Kindergarten to Eighth grade?

2.This semester, you should be reading the book A Piece of Cake by Cupcake Brown.How do you think Cupcake and Larry's trail through the foster care system would have been different if they'd been close? Do you think it would have helped either of them later in life?

3. After learning about Larry in "A Piece of Cake" and his behaviors, does he meet the criteria for ADHD? Why or why not?

Part II

This week, you will need to view the documentary (Just Melvin) (Trigger Warning is assigned to this documentary) found in the Module 5 and 6 folder. Next week, you will review the lectureon trauma. Respond to the following questions:

1.Discuss the emotions you experienced while viewing this documentary.

2. After processing what you saw and heard after watching the documentary,discuss what you saw as a future clinician (put on your counseling hat).

3. Pretend Melvin was court-mandated to go to counseling, and you were assigned to be his counselor. Two of his goals were to obtain housing and live as independently as possible. Do you think you would have difficulty counseling Melvin? How would you go about assisting him with his goal? Keep in mind his criminal history will make it difficult to find housing.
