Part II: Saving Now 

For start and to understand the basics, choose two potential investment options (e.g.- savings account, mutual fund, CD etc.).  Describe and discuss the pros and cons of each, including rates of return.

 

1.   At the current rates of return for each investment, how much money, on average, would be needed annually to reach any desired savings goal?  Use the formula: 


where A is the desired balance, I is the annual saving amount, r is the average return rate of your investment, and t is the time you will be saving. Create a table.

 

2.    Compare the desired savings balance with the average stock market annual return rate instead.

 

Part III: Putting it Together: What will be your compound interest model? What investment plans will you offer and promote? Justify

Use your previous work and your understanding of compound interest to define:

 


 

• The investment goals. 

• How much money is to be saved?

• How will the money be invested (real estate, stocks, bonds, crypto etc.?  Give details of your reasons for choosing any investment option.  Describe all options considered (including return rates, pros and cons, and information sources) and discuss which factors influenced you to choose one option over another.

• How much is required to be invested each year?

• How long will it take to meet the goal with compound interest?

• What roadblocks might you encounter and how will you address them?

  8. Identify 3 disrupter companies of the past (show the past 20 years growth chart)

  9. Future disrupter companies? Potential investment trends (EVs)

  11. Investment package ideas
