Metal or silicon-based microelectrodes inserted into the brain or nucleus of a living animal can record the firing of nerve cells, known as Action Potential (AP), or Spike. Usually one electrode records a signal from multiple nearby nerve cells, and Spike Sorting is done to sort out the AP of these cells. The AP sequences after Sorting are classified into individual nerve cells respectively, and quantitative analysis is carried out in the next step to find out the relationship between nerve cell discharge and external stimuli and behaviors. This is an important method in the study of neuroelectrophysiology. Hubel and Wiessel, who won the Nobel Prize in Physiology and Medicine in 1981, used this neural recording method to create a new field of visual neural coding research. The attached data file spikewave.mat contains 5376 spike waveforms, each with a length of 40 sampling points. Please complete the following tasks to submit spikesorting.ipynb:

1) Draw these spike waveforms together, observe and describe their separability;

2) Use PCA method to reduce the dimensions of these spikes to 2 and 3 dimensions respectively, and draw them

3) Appropriate clustering methods are used to divide them into reasonable categories in the 2- and 3-dimensional space respectively, and these categories correspond to the firing of adjacent nerve cells;

4) Classify the waveforms after Spike sorting according to nerve cells and draw them together again with different colors to observe and describe the differences between their waveforms within and between classes. Note thet:Submit a Jupyter Notebook file *.ipynb. These include Python Code, which can be run directly.
