peer 1: For this week, I will be focusing on the approaches to learning domain with an eye on the sub-domain, creativity. The aspect of professional development I will be working on to support my intentional teaching is responsive interactions. When children are learning creative arts, I want to be sure that l am listening attentively to children's creative ideas. I want to be sure that I am encouraging children to express themselves through the arts freely, as well as using their interests to plan meaningful creative arts activities. I will measure my success by watching my teaching video and assessing my interactions with the children to see if they reflect responsive interactions. In order to support my professional practice in this area, I would like to receive feedback from colleagues and mentors. They can observe my interactions with children and let me know specifically what I am doing well and what I could improve on.
peer 2: In regard to my professional practice focus the aspect that I will be focusing on to support your intentional teaching in this domain is strengthening my ability to scaffold learning experiences. I want to get better at creating different methods for students to understand a topic when they may be behind or ahead. I find that by having the option to scaffold information and topics students are able to have the necessary information broken down to a level that they can understand and then from there are able to take it what is trying to be taught to them. I will be focusing on the teaching and learning domain of approaches to learning. I am looking for students to be more engaged in the material and walk away being able to communicate their needs with peers in a more efficient manner.
peer 3: For this week's intentional teaching plan, I'll focus on the Creative Arts, which includes visual art, music, movements, and dramatic play. I'll focus on the Approaches to Learning from the Early Head Start Learning Framework.
I'll focus on creativity in my professional practice. I want to cre ate an environment where children can express their creativity in thinking and communication. I want them to use their imagination in play, singing, dancing, and interacting with others. I'll also provide hands-on activities like painting to foster creativity and help children explore various ideas.
Finally, I'll provide space for open-ended play so children can express themselves creatively.
To evaluate my success, I'll observe how the children actively engage in creative activities, express themselves through art, music, and dramatic play, and demonstrate their ability to think imaginatively and communicate ideas.
To support my professional practice in this area, I'll utilize various resources, from EHSLOF, art supplies, musical instruments, props for dramatic play, and age-appropriate books or stories that inspire creativity.
