Question:
Ping Tunnel. Use 2 Kali VMs in this task. In your Kali1 VM, download a large text file. You can get it at https://www.learningcontainer.com/sample-text-file/ Download the 2MB text file and save it as large.txt
We want to send this file to Kali2 stealthily, in ping packets.
Using hping, send the file called book.txt from Kali1 to Kali2 in Ping packets: sudo hping3 -1 -E large.txt -u -d 1500 -u means that hping will indicate when the transfer is complete. -d 1500 specifies that the packet sizes will be 1500.
While the transfer is taking place, run tcpdump on Kali2 to capture the packets in a PCAP.
On Kali2, make sure that Wireshark is set to not reassemble fragments. (screen shot will be appreciated)
Open the PCAP in wireshark in Kali2, and examine the packets/fragments that hping sent. Using tshark on Kali2, extract all of the data that hping sent to a file. Don't forget to remove newlines and ':' characters. This data will be in hex form.
Convert this hex file to ascii, possibly using the xxd command, and view the large text file.(screen shot will be required
