The system is expected to deliver 110 MW of power. a) Evaluate the performance of the system. Find the mass flow rate of fuel needed. Clearly state the power output from gas and steam turbines, and power required for the water pump and air compressor. b) Based on the analysis in part (a), offer recommendations how the cycle performance can be improved by adjusting the cycle parameters. Evaluate the performance of the improved system. c) Consider changes in cycle design which could lead to further enhancement in performance. Design changes may include upgrades and introduction of new components and processes in both topping and bottoming cycle. Suggest operational parameters of new components and evaluate the performance of the upgraded system. Note that the gas cycle, HRSG and steam cycle should be analysed holistically. You should submit the report showing your main findings and analysis. You should support your recommendations by qualitative and quantitative data.
