One of these products, the gonkulator, a building safety device, has been the subject of random customer complaints involving false activation which has inconvenienced the customer. The complaint data appears to be statistically significant and the company President wants this irritating problem solved.

You bring this issue up at a joint production/engineering/purchasing quality meeting. Production says they are putting out a good product and that the problems are with a faulty design. Engineering insists that production cannot make the product according to specification. How do you resolve this situation?
