Suppose that both the distribution center and facilities make use of reorder point policies (with different parameters, of course) to control inventory of each part. Describe the impact on the average waiting time experienced by customers at the facility level if we make each of the following changes: a. Reduce the lead time required to replensh stock at the distribution center. b. Increase the reorder points of all items stocked at the distribution center (so that the overall inventory level at the DC is increased). c. Leave the reorder points for items unchanged but purchase replenishments from suppliers in larger order quantities. d. Increase the reorder points for all items at the facilities. e. Allow shipment of parts between facilities (i.e., if a facility needs a part that is out of stock at the DC, it can get it from another facility).
