Debate on the trade war. Students are asked to browse the topic using their mobile devices, form teams, and defend in a debate the side they are asked to take (assigned by the instructor). On-campus students will debate in the classroom. Online students will debate in the discussion forum.

Since 2018 the world's two largest economies, the United States and China, have imposed tariffs on billions of dollars worth of one another's goods. The trade war has brought struggles for farmers and manufacturers and higher prices for consumers in the United States. China's economic growth has also been heavily hit by the on-going trade war. The uncertainty is hurting businesses and weighing on the global economy. Would a trade war solve the alleged problems?

Follow-Up Questions for Post-Debate Discussion/Debrief: What other consequences may this particular trade war and trade wars in general cause? How should manufacturers adjust their operations strategies to mitigate the external operations and supply chain risks?
