On 24 April 2017, while Akil was doing maintenance work on Ali's BMW, he did not do a proper repair on the brakes which happens to be quite defective. Subsequently Ali, while driving his car met with an accident, which landed him in the hospital for several days. Two weeks later, .113 received a letter from the Director of Home Affairs stating that Akil was alleged to have been involved in a terrorist movement which is under investigation by the Home Aairs department. On 1 June 2017, Akil was given a letter to attend a disciplinary proceeding indicating that he had been negligent and incompetent in his work. The disciplinary board sat on 15 June 201'? and after a short proceeding where Ali acted as chairman of the board, read the charges and later read the letter from the Home Affairs depaltment.
