please answer the questions mathematically step by step
Traditional targets for an emergency department (ER) include the promise to patients that on arrival in an emergency department "you should be assessed by a nurse, depending on how urgent your case is, within 15 min of your arrival...". In reality, it remains an aspiration to be able to reduce the risk of seriously ill patients remaining unidentified in the waiting room for extended periods. The requirements of the triage task itself impose a degree of time pressure on the triage staff. They must spend adequate time collecting information from the current patient to make the best possible triage decision, but also not delay those waiting in reception who are, as yet, of unknown criticality. On way to improve the efficiency of the ER is to implement the assembly line techniques, in order to process more patients. Your team is responsible of designing the most suitable assembly line, based on the activities outlined in the Table below, for a local ER department. The focus of the process improvement will be for the 12 3pm shift. a) In case the ER wanted to run the 123pm shift with only one nurse, how many patients can be processed during that shift? What is the cycle time associated with this arrangement? b) ER would like to increase the number of patients processed to 10 patients/shift. How many actual nurses will be needed to achieve this target and what will be the time needed for every patient? What is the efficiency of this arrangement? c) In order to be able to process even more patients, ER can increase their staff to 8 nurses. Help the triage design a system that will process the maximum number of patients with 8 nurses. What is the efficiency of the new system? Case Report Perform an analysis of ER/Triage process and prepare a report presenting your findings and recommendations. The report should include a cover page with the names of the team members (Maximum 3 members/Team)
