1. Using observation as a tool to collect data, give an example of an observation that you have made about your practicum site. This may include the staff, patients, your preceptor, or the responses to your implemented project. How did the observation help you to better understand the population and their needs? My practicum project is at a Foundation that has had a history of caring for people who have the ability to thrive when given the support, respect, and dignity that all human beings deserve. For my project, I am focusing on TMR audits of all 10 programs in the organization at the Central, and TIER audits of all the organizations. Audits are a continuous monitoring plan, to update the quality improvement plan to make it successful. As these audits are implemented into practice, it will allow all clinical, operations, marketing and recruiting, and licensing departments to identify gaps in their processes or potential opportunities. Identifying these gives the opportunities early to increase the likelihood of success during state and CMS audits that generally happen yearly. Because of Covid, they have been unable to do the audits of all the programs in the last 2 years and this made it so difficult to track down but, with my preceptor, we have been able to see a lot and have been able to fix issues before DDS comes around. As the project comes to completion and the newly updated audits are in place, the measures that come with it are if the audits are identifying issues and/or the departments are passing their daily, weekly, monthly, and annual audits. 2.
