1. Australian firm A is a manufacturer of two different types of outputs (Output 1 and Output 2). In order to assess performance at its Brisbane plant, an analyst collects annual data on the quantities of three inputs (capital, labour and materials) and two outputs (Output 1 and Output 2). Data for the last five years are presented in Table 1. Excel QM and material learnt in the lectures and tutorials to answer the following questions: Table 1: Data for the Brisbane Plant (c) Formulate a constant-returns-to-scale (CRS) DEA model in envelopment form that can be used to determine the technical efficiency of the plant in 2020. Solve the problem using Excel QM. Use the model to determine the output-oriented scale efficiency (OSE) of the plant in that year. How scale efficient was the plant? (50 marks)
