A prospective buyer responds to their online ad by email and makes an appointment to see the house.

When the buyer arrives, the Barrymores are dismayed to discover that he's wearing unfamiliar religious garb and speaks with a heavy foreign accent.

Mr. Barrymore immediately tells him they've just accepted an offer from another buyer, although in fact they haven't even received any offers.

Have the Barrymores violated any state antidiscrimination laws by lying to the buyer? If so, which one(s)? What about the federal Fair Housing Act?
