Hospital Service Departments 1. Surgical Services Dept.- Provide surgical services that are arranged in advance or as a result of critical trauma. These services require hospital admission 2. Outpatient Services Dept- Perform procedures for pre-scheduled patients and for those referred by the ER. These will not involve hospital admission. 3. Diagnostics \& Imaging Dept- Perform complex diagnostic tests for in hospital departments as well as from outside the hospital. These may be scheduled in advance or on an emergency basis. 4. Emergency Department (ER)- Provide emergency diagnostic and treatment for patients that are transported to the hospital by EMS or who arrive on their own. 5. Records Dept.- Transmit/receive appropriate medical records from internal departments as well as with external medical professionals. Break into Teams of 4: Create a concept design for one of the departments listed above. Exercise II (day 1): - Draw a diagram showing the system boundary and external entities. - List and describe the stakeholders you must consider for your department - List the needs for each stakeholder Exercise III (day 2): - Identify 8 operating scenarios - Each team member write 1 use case to discuss among the team - List the tasks being performed by the system for each use case Basic Information Put the output from exercises II \& III at the top of your homework submittal. 1.
