Selling Financial Services: Pre-call Report Assignment The Pre-call Report is a research project which will help you plan a successful sale of a financial service / product to a prospective client. You can do this assignment individually or in a group. This is the equivalent of your course midterm. The information in your Pre-call Report-willso ferm the basis for your Sales Script Presentation conducted later.on in the semester. This script presentation is the equivalent of your final exam. By completing a Pre-call Report, you are developing an example of the type of information all salespeople should prepare prior to making sales calls. For this assignment, you need to make three choices, Choose: 1. a financial services company to represent; 2. the specific product you will sell to a prospective client; 3. the prospective client to whemyau sell your product. Financial services include: insurance, banking services, stocks and bonds, mutual funds, and the like. The Pre-call Report consists of the following parts some of which you will have to research. Total course value =30 marks, as described below. 1. Please start the report with a separate title page identifing the company you represent, your name and sales position and the name of the "client" for whom the report is prepared. This should be followed by a Table of contents linked to the other sections of the report identified below. Clients appreciate a professional-looking analysis that is easily readable, searchable and looks tailored for them (1 mark). 2. Include an Executive summary following the Table of Contents. This section briefly summarizes the client's KrC and specific objective(s), the specific product or service you recommend and how that recommendation specifically addresses the client's objective. Use paragraph form to explain each of these three items (1) mark for each item for a total of 3 marks). 3. Add a section called "Representative Profile" to briefly describe the company you work for and its reputation. Explain who you are, your industry credentials, and your specialization. Clients lfke to know they are dealing with professionally competent people. Two Paragraphs are needed: one describing your company and one describing you ( 2 marks). 4. Using the term "Client Profile," describe your client as fully as you can. Make it explicitly clear what their objective and motivations are, that your product suits the client's stated needs, it is something they can afford, they have the authority to buy it. There are 6 pieces to this section. All are worth 1 mark for a total of 6 marks. 5. Add a section called "Product Profile" to briefly identify the features, advantages and benefits of your product as well as your competitive advantage. Make sure your choice of features, advantages and benefits is accurate and similar to needs and objectives described in the client profile. At the end of this section, note the source you used for your information (4 marks). 6. Add a section called "Macro-considerations" to briefly describe conditions in the larger economy and any legal or political concerns or social issues that directly impact your client's objective or the timing of a potential purchase. Urgency matters in decision-making. In this section, you are describing 4 meaningful reasons the client should buy your product/service right now ( 4 marks). 7. Identify three "realistic" and "meaningful" objections from the client to your offer. Explain how you can counter these objections in a way that closes the deal ( 6 marks). 8. Explain in paragraph form how you might follow-up the sale. "Follow-up" is often the beginning of the next sale or service renewal. This includes asking for a referral ( 4 marks). Any graphs, charts or tables you might use to illustrate or provide context supporting your sales presentation should not be included in the text. Put them in an appendix and reference that in the text by saying, for example, (see appendix 1). Any published resources you from which you copy product details need to be referenced in APA style
