Please construct an argument in English, in which the premises and conclusion are clearly stated to be such.

Your argument must have a conclusion the topic of which is something connected with the subject matter of your major discipline (Computer Science).

One crucial feature of this assignment is that I should like you to create an argument with true premises. That is to say, please construct an argument in which your premises state, to the best of your current knowledge, true facts about the world.

Your argument must contain at least two (2) premises and a maximum of one (1) conclusion. I should like it very much if your argument was valid, but I shall not worry that point with this first assignment. (Keep in mind that a valid argument is an argument in which it is impossible for the premises to be true while the conclusion is false.)

The following argument fulfills each of the assignment's requirements. (In fact, the argument below has three premises, rather than the minimum requirement of two.) You are not permitted to use the same form of argument as below.

Premise 1 If a person is defined as a being that is selfconscious and rational, then tigers are

not persons.

Premise 2 If a person is defined as a being with a human genetic code, then dolphins are not

persons.

Premise 3 Tigers are not, but dolphins are, persons.

Conclusion Therefore, a person is not defined as a being with a human genetic code.
