Please create a response to this post, talking about how things like this are exactly why I believe the wrongful conviction rate is so high and more than we know

"I believe that in the United States, factually innocent people may be convicted more than we might think, because in court, it comes down to what a jury truly believes happened, so over time, even if there are facts, prosecutors can twist facts and make them seem different. I believe that people are more skeptical of people being innocent and still being convicted of crimes, due to the fact that the world today is all about "what if's". On the other hand I also believe that sometimes mistakes truly are made, even in court. Over the course of a trial, many things are brought up and discussed, and lawyers are very good and trained to represent their clients to the best of their abilities, guilty or innocent. I found that giving the witnesses instructions and preparing them before taking the stand was very intriguing due to the fact that many times you can "tell the truth" in a way that still makes a person seem innocent, however they may not be. Being able to prepare and train a witness takes away the brutal honesty that taking the oath does if you are not prepared."
