Please Describe all steps and show code.
3.5 Six-bar equations
Stephenson Type 1
Stephenson Type 3
a. Observe the Stephenson Type 1,2 and 3 Mechanisms. Using concepts from this course,
describe the primary difference between these three mechanisms. Explain why the method
described in section 4.13 will not work for a Stephenson Type 2 mechanism.
b. Using the image of the Stephenson Type 1, map out each of the steps in the derivation of
the equations (and subsequent code) to calculate the angles 5 and 6 and the position of
E,G and F.
c. Using your steps for the Type 1, determine the steps necessary for a Type 3 and modify the
code from the Type 1 to calculate the angles 5 and 6 and the position of E,C and G.
You should test and submit your code in MATLAB Grader, but also include your code for the
basic equations (not the entire loop) here.
d. Develop the loop code to calculate the values of the angles 5 and 6 and the position of
E,C and G at the specified number of increments. Use the code provided in MATLAB Grader
to plot your results. Submit your code through MATLAB Grader and include your output
graph in your Brightspace submission.
