Using the increasing amount of health care data and data analytics, health care delivery can be optimized and standardized based on scientific evidence, so that the art of medicine becomes less and less important over time. Thanks to the increasing evidence of best practices, clinical guidelines can be standardized in the long run and computer programs can advise on the most appropriate course of therapy using evidence-based medicine and individual patient data, which may eventually eliminate the demand for physicians in the long run.
