The SHS transfers equal biaxial moment of $M_{y,Ed}=M_{z,Ed}=150kNm$ and biaxial shear

of $V_{y,Ed}=V_{z,Ed}=360kN.$

$($a$)$ Assuming that the moments and shears are carried by the flanges and the webs

respectively, determine the axial and shear forces carried by each element $($flange$,$

web$)$ of the SHS$.$

$($b$)$ Using the directional method, propose the minimum leg length $s$ of weld to resist
