Question 2 (30 marks) Read the information in the following box. Patrick Chan is the business manager of Eastern Europe Travel (EET), a company that specializes in holiday packages for travellers who are interested in Eastern Europe. EET's services include flight, transport and accommodation arrangements, tailor-made itineraries for special occasions like the World Cup, and also a 24-hour hotline that offers all kinds of travel advice that travellers need. People's interest in travelling to Eastern Europe has increased steadily, and yet the number of travellers increased by 5% year on year before 2019. Since the coronavirus outbreak, the hospitality industry has been hammered seriously. The COVID-19 has caused EET to drop its sales revenue by more than 80%, and in response to the worldwide pandemic Patrick has therefore implemented measures to cut operational costs including unpaid leave for tour guides. As Patrick is result-oriented, and he is under pressure to increase revenue. Karen Wong is the business development officer of EET, and she believes that the coronavirus pandemic will be gone in a few months, and that it is time for the company to promote its holiday services. So, she has contacted a pay TV station, and they are willing to develop a series of 10 travel episodes to be broadcasted in its travel channel. However, the production of the travel programme requires EET to cover 30% of all the production costs, and Karen feels that it is worth trying it, as she believes that using television advertising is quick to increase sales revenue.
